SFD Responds to MVA with Entrapment

On Wednesday, September 19th at 1435 hours, the Seaford Fire Department responded to a four car MOA at the corner of Sunrise Hwy. and Jackson Ave. The SFD responded with one ambulance (684), one heavy rescue (687), fire police (686) and two Chiefs (6800 and 6802). A chain reaction crash resulted in a side impact on a compact car. The female driver was trapped in the car and had to be extricated by the crew of 687. EMT Morreale arrived in his car and began treatment of the female. The crew of 687 (Ex-Chief Meyer, Ex-Chief Feil, Lt. Tyznar, Ex-Capt. Bellissimo, FF Nicola and FF Walts) used the Hurst Tool to remove the drivers side door and stabilize the car. After she was extricated, she was transported to NUMC via 684. A mutual-aid ambulance from the Wantagh Fire Department (6917) responded to assist in the treatment of two minor patients. NCPD ambulance 2351 and NCPD ESU also assisted at the scene.
