Car Fire on Rt. 135
On Thursday, March 20th at 1415 hours, the Seaford Fire Department responded to an active car fire in the South-bound lanes of the Seaford Oyster Bay Expy. at Jerusalem Ave. The SFD responded with two engines (682 and 681) and two Chiefs (6800 and 6802). The fire consumed a 2007 Mercedes Benz SUV. The driver was able to escape the truck after he noticed flames coming from under the heater under the dashboard. The NCPD Highway Patrol was also on scene to divert traffic off of Rt. 135 and onto Jerusalem Ave.
