WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE
Welcome to the Seaford Fire Department website. This website was originated in 2002 and was designed to communicate between department members and interested guests throughout the entire world.
Let me tell you a little bit about the department. We are all volunteer. We were first organized in 1900 and have been serving the community of Seaford for 104+ years. The membership consists of 60 active members of which 12 are New York State certified medical technicians. We currently have only one firehouse which houses two engines (681, 682), one aerial ladder truck (683), one heavy rescue (687), and two ambulances (684, 685). Located in our storage garage are a few additional pieces of apparatus. We have a boat (6810), high water rescue vehicle (6811), fire police vehicle (686), and medic car (6899).
The department meets twice a week. We have training on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. We have a well developed EMS/Fire training program that is designed by our training committee. This committee consists of the Chief’s, Captains, and 3 Ex- Chief’s.
Some of our upcoming projects are the use of our newly constructed training trailers and continued training on our new heavy rescue (687). We are continuously training and keeping in touch with new and upcoming ideas and materials in the fire service.
